Steve's band with his buddy Ian Petrie - Steve has
played in pub, folk and dance bands since 1970 - Ian and Steve have worked in
this celidh and barn dance band for 15 years. |

Steve has been a radio amateur or radio 'Ham' since he
was a teenager and still holds the same callsign, this set the course for his
whole career..after leaving school he trained with the MOD as an electronics
engineer and now holds a Fellowship of the prestigious Institution of
Engineering and Technology (IET). Steve worked on the design and implementation
of large radio communication networks in the 80's and 90's before moving into
public sector IT outsourcing in the late 1990's. Steve is the author or
co-author of a number of professional papers on the technologies used for
Police communication in the UK and has spoken at Warwick, Oxford and Cambridge
University conferences. He still loves playing electronics and can even build
things with old valves in - and gets fed up with Tony Hancock jokes (the Radio
Ham episode) |
